Director of Operations
The Memphis in May International Festival is seeking an experienced event operations and production professional with demonstrated success in managing large-scale public events to lead our operations department. The successful candidate will have expertise in negotiating and managing vendor and event operations including sound, lights, staging, electrical, police, fire and public safety components, as well as experience in site development, parking, food and beverage operations, warehouse, asset, labor and volunteer management. This is a full-time, year-round position managing multiple public assembly and outdoor events for one of America’s leading civic festival organizations.
We seek a highly responsible individual who is detail-oriented and an energetic team player capable of working long hours managing multiple large-scale events within a narrow timeframe, while adhering to strict deadlines and budget parameters. This position requires an individual who is an effective communicator and is both strategic and hands on. College degree or equivalent experience is required.
This is one of five management staff positions that report directly to the president & CEO. This position is responsible for planning, implementing and managing production elements and operations of all events. The position requires a candidate with a minimum of five years of major public event management experience.
This is a career position with a successful, respected and stable organization that offers a starting salary range between $60,000 and $80,000 along with a desirable benefits package including paid medical insurance coverage and reimbursement plan, 401K plan, bonus and liberal vacation plan.
