901Fest Lineup & Activities Announced

MIM 901 Fest 20170527 232

The city’s most festive month will be capped off on Saturday, May 26, 2018 with 901Fest, the third annual celebration of all things Memphis, supporting local musical talent on multiple stages, local artists selling unique arts and handcrafts, delicious food from local vendors, with an airshow and spectacular fireworks finale set to Memphis music in the beautiful setting of Tom Lee Park!

As a Memphis event, a fantastic musical lineup is required, and this year’s does not disappoint.  Among the 2018 headliners are the highly acclaimed Southern Avenue, Memphis hip hop duo 8Ball and MJG, and the Mighty Souls Brass Band.

A wide-range of Memphis talent will be on display all day across multiple stages, with performances from Memphis soul artist, Nick Black; hip hop artist Marco Pavé; iHeartMemphis; soul artist Ashton Riker; local rapper Frayser Boy; the dance styling of Memphis Jookin’; indie rockers Avon Dale; local deejay Scotty B; the gritty Southern rock of The Fast Mothers; teen rockers Under the Radar; The Grizzline; students from the School of Rock; plus Sebastian Cameron with a spoken word performance, the rock and jazz of Briarcrest Soundscape; and many more.

New this year, the inaugural 901Fest Cornhole Tournament! The festival will offer (25) two-person teams the chance to show off their skills and compete for both glory and prizes in a double elimination tournament.

This family-friendly event also offers a Creative Arts tent with multiple stations to make your own Memphis-inspired art, plus Knockerball, which is as much fun to watch as it is to play!

Local pilots will perform in an airshow over the Mississippi River at 6:00 p.m., and as mentioned, the night will end with a stunning fireworks finale lighting the skies over downtown Memphis at 9:30 p.m.

Gates open at 3:00 p.m., and tickets are just $9 in advance at ticketfly.com, or $10 at the gate, with all activities included in the price.  Kids 6 and under get in free.  Blankets and lawn chairs are permitted, but outside food, beverages, and coolers are not.

The 2018 901Fest is sponsored by AutoZone, Duncan-Williams Asset Management, Marathon Petroleum, Waddell & Associates, WMC Action News 5, Choose901, and ILoveMemphisblog.com.
