Memphis in May ends the year announcing another recognition for the successful 2018 Beale Street Music Festival.  Concert industry trade publication Pollstar just released its list of the “Top 20 Worldwide Festival Grosses” for 2018 and Beale Street Music Festival ranked number 20 with more than $4.5 million in gross revenue and nearly 92,000 tickets sold.  Other festivals on the list include Outside Lands in San Francisco, Sao Paulo’s Lollapalooza Brazil, Life Is Beautiful in Las Vegas, and Vive Latino in Mexico City.

Along with Beale Street Music Festival’s appearance on the Top 20 List, Memphis was ranked again, this time in Pollstar’s annual list of “Top 100 Outdoor Stadiums” based upon worldwide ticket sales.  The Beale Street Music Festival’s ticket sales in Memphis’ Tom Lee Park put the venue in the #87 slot, two behind Denver’s Coors Field.

“Part of the mission of Memphis in May is to drive economic development and increase international awareness of Memphis, and we accomplished that this year by once again attracting tens of thousands of ticket buyers to our great city and producing an economic impact of more than $137.7 million,” said Memphis in May President and CEO James L. Holt.  “As a result of this year’s record-setting attendance, it’s exciting to see Beale Street Music Festival and Tom Lee Park included among top worldwide rankings, garnering the attention our city deserves.”
