Susan Elliott Promoted to Vice President of Programming for Memphis in May International Festival
Memphis in May International Festival today announced the promotion of Susan Elliott to Vice President of Programming, overseeing the festival’s arts, international culture, education, and entertainment programs. Elliott joined Memphis in May in February of 2016, bringing more than 20 years’ experience working with organizations such as the University of Memphis, Memphis Convention and Visitors Bureau (MCVB), and Mud Island River Park.
“Susan’s experience and professionalism has made her the perfect fit to direct our cultural, education and assorted entertainment programs, and her passion for the City of Memphis and the Memphis in May International Festival make her invaluable to our team,” said Memphis in May International Festival President and CEO Jim Holt. “We are fortunate to have her skills and talents, and this promotion is in recognition of her growing contribution to our organization.”
A native Memphian and University of Memphis alumnae, Elliott’s work at Memphis in May is integral to carrying out the Festival’s mission “to celebrate Memphis culture and expand international awareness through education,” by not only being responsible for curating the international cultural and education programs, but also guiding the entertainment programming for the Beale Street Music Festival Blues Tent, World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest, 901Fest and Great American River Run.
