The Memphis in May Beale Street Music Festival announced today that local R&B singer Porcelan will join the Beale Street Music Festival lineup. The announcement brings the total number of Memphis performers to fifteen – nearly 25% of the lineup.

With her mini LP release coming this summer, Porcelan’s appearance at Beale Street Music Festival comes just as this local star is rising. Her second single will be released next month, coming on the heels of her debut, “The Real Thing Don’t Change,” which was co-written by legendary producer and Hall of Fame songwriter David Porter. In fact, Porcelan is one of the latest artists signed to Porter’s Made in Memphis Entertainment label.

“We are always looking for local performers to highlight at the Beale Street Music Festival,” said James L. Holt, President and CEO of Memphis in May. “This year’s lineup is rich with Memphis talent, from Juicy J, Young Dolph, and Al Kapone, to Valerie June, North Mississippi Allstars, and Tora Tora, or Reba Russell, Blind Mississippi Morris, and Star & Micey. We’re excited to showcase a rising Memphis perfomer such as Porcelan.”

Memphis performers at the 2018 Beale Street Music Festival include Love Light Orchestra, Ghost Town Blues Band, Earl “the Pearl” Banks, Tav Falco and the Panther Burns, and Chinese Connection Dub Embassy.

Additionally, London-based alt-pop duo Oh Wonder announced today that “due to unforeseen circumstances” they are canceling all performances between April 16 and May 13, and therefore will be unable to perform at the Beale Street Music Festival.

Three-day passes can be purchased through TicketFly.com for only $125, with single-day tickets selling for $55. A small number of VIP passes are still available at Ticketfly.com; three-day VIP passes are $595, or single-day VIP passes for $249. VIP treatment includes exclusive covered viewing platforms with seating near the main stages, a private area in the Blues Tent, private “comfort station” restrooms, and light snacks and drinks (including limited alcoholic beverages).

The festival opens to the public at 5:00 pm on Friday, May 4 and runs through Sunday, May 6. The 2018 Beale Street Music Festival is sponsored by Bud Light, FedEx and Coca-Cola.
