Macondo, The World of Gabriel García Márquez

17 Colombia Public Library

Using a medium format camera with black and white film, photojournalist Fausto Giaccone travels, traces and interprets places mentioned in the works of Nobel Laurate Gabriel García Márquez’s works. Using Márquez’s One Hundred Years of Solitude to map Colombia with captivating photographs led to the photographer’s discovery of “not only the best contemporary Colombian literature, but also its topography, its history, its traditions and its pain, its light and its shadows.” For more information on this event, click here.
