Jimmy Eat World, the Mesa, Ariz. band that formed in 1993, consists of vocalist/lead guitarist Jim Adkins, rhythm guitarist/vocalist Tom Linton, bassist Rick Burch and drummer Zach Lind. After a successful tour in 2014, the musicians decided to take a break. They came back in Nov. 2015 to do their ninth full-length album, Integrity Blues, which was released last year. Adkins said he wanted to change things up. “Instead of writing about a problem, I wanted to write about a solution,” he says. “Integrity Blues is about trying to overcome that personal struggle instead of getting upset with what life could be that it isn’t.” Their albums include Jimmy Eat World (1994), Static Prevails (1996), Clarity (1999) and Bleed American (2001), which produced several successful singles. Later came Futures in 2004 with the No. 1 song “Pain.” Chase This Light (2007) was the highest charting album at No. 5 on the Billboard 200.
