About

In 2000, Atlanta rapper Ludacris signed to Def Jam's rap subsidiary, Def Jam South, and became the label's flagship Dirty South artist. He got immediate attention with Back for the First Time, issuing "What's Your Fantasy?" as its lead single. The song was the first of many hits that would include Billboard Hot 100 No. 1’s and Top Tens. His album Word of Mouf (2001), continued his rise, charting at No. 3 while his third album, Chicken-N-Beer, hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Release Therapy was issued in 2006 with two Hot 100-charting singles, "Money Maker" at No. 1 and "Runaway Love" at No. 2. The rapper has also gained fame as an actor, including films “2 Fast 2 Furious” and the Memphis-shot “Hustle & Flow.”
