Below are the economic events held during the International Salute to Tunisia in May of 2010.
Memphis Rotary Club
The Memphis Downtown Rotary Club focused their weekly luncheon meeting on U.S. and Tunisia relations. Ambassador Habib Mansour, current Tunisian Ambassador to the U.S. was the featured speaker. Ambassador Mansour previously served as Tunisia's permanent representative to the United Nations in New York since 2007. In addition, he was the Tunisian ambassador to Cyprus (2006-07) and to Italy (2005-07), with residence in Rome, as well as permanent representative to the United Nations in Geneva (2002-04). He was also ambassador to several other nations, including ambassador to Spain (1997-2001), to Chile (1995-97), to Argentina (1994-97), and to what was then Zaire (1990-92). Ambassador Manosur spoke of the close and important relationship between Tunisia and the United States.
Export University
Key Components of the export process essential to success in exporting were examined and explained. Beyond this the goal of this seminar was to give instruction on how to export and to connect you to various sources for assistance. In addition, a presenter spoke about export processes and opportunities in the 2010 honored country of Tunisia. Co-sponsored by the Greater Memphis Chamber, FedEx and U.S. Commercial Service.
International Council Luncheon
Mr. Noureddine TAKTAK, Senior Director - Industry Promotion Agency - API, presented during the international council luncheon on Thursday, May 6th at the University of Memphis Fogeleman Conference Center. Tunisia Ambassador to the United States, His Excellency Ambassador Habib Mansour also made comments.
Approximately
80 key local international trade executives, as well as local government
leaders of both the City of Memphis and Shelby County attend this
annual meeting.
Economic Club
Established to promote the study and discussion of
economic, political and social issues, the Economic Club supports
Memphis in May International Festival’s salute each year by welcoming a distinguished speaker from the honored country. The speakers for this year's event were Ambassador Habib Mansour and Ms. Amina MKADA, Director of FIPA in Tunisia and Madrid.
