Great news, barbecue fans!  As we told you last week, the 2020 World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest is NOT canceled, just postponed, and we're excited to announce the new dates are September 30 - October 3, 2020!  We are working right now to make this Rumble on the River another can't-miss competition weekend.

If you already bought tickets for May, relax, you're all set!  Those tickets are still good for the new fall dates.  Just hang onto them and scan them at the gates to Tom Lee Park in September/October just as you would have in May.

However, if you can't make the new fall dates, we completely understand; these are crazy times and not everyone's schedule can adjust, so check out these OPTIONS you can choose from!

OPTION 1- Defer your 2020 ticket purchase (with no price increase or additional convenience fee) to the 2021 WCBCC which will be held May 12-15, 2021.  Beginning next Wednesday, April 1 (no fooling!), simply click HERE to access the form and when you complete it, select "defer order to 2021 event" at the bottom and Eventbrite will process your request and send you a new confirmation in 7-10 business days.  You'll need to provide your Eventbrite Order ID, your email address, and first/last names.  NOTE: the deferral window is April 1 through May 1, 2020 and will take 7-10 business days to process due to the increased volume of transactions Eventbrite is receiving.

OPTION 2- Make your ticket purchase a tax-deductible contribution to the Memphis in May International Festival!  Did you know we are a 501c(3) non-profit organization?  The ticket sales from the WCBCC help us provide curriculum books for Memphis-area schools, student exchange programs, free in-school cultural performances and so much more!  Plus, if you make your ticket purchase a charitable donation, you get a tax deduction!  Beginning next Wednesday, April 1, simply click HERE to access the form and when you complete it, select "donate order" at the bottom and you'll receive a receipt to submit with your 2020 tax documents. You'll need to provide your Eventbrite Order ID, your email address, and first/last names.

OPTION 3- if the rescheduled October dates don't work for you and you're not sure if you can make it in 2021, or don't want to donate your ticket purchase as a tax-deductible charitable donation, you may obtain a refund of your ticket price.  Beginning next Wednesday, April 1, simply click HERE and fill out the information requested, selecting "Refund" at the bottom.  You'll need to provide your Eventbrite Order ID, your email address, and first/last names.  NOTE: The refund window is April 1 through May 1, 2020 and will take 7-10 business days to process due to the increased volume of transactions Eventbrite is receiving.

We know this is a difficult time for everyone, but we are looking forward to putting it all behind us soon and enjoying one hell of a party at the prestigious World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest, September 30 through October 3 in Tom Lee Park!  Stay well, and we'll see you there!
